What a fantastic story this is. Before I talk about the story itself, I was really impressed how in such a long story there are no typos or misspellings like in other indie books. This alone tells me that the author is really passionate about her work.I loved how the romance between Penny and Richard blossomed. From meeting at a college bar, to hooking up, to escaping out the window from strange men banging on the door in the middle of the night, and on. The two of them had me feeling many different emotions as the story continued. Although they just met, Richard was hesitant but open to answer the many questions Penny had for him proofing that he cares for her and feels comfortable enough to answer all those questions like the reason he learned to fight (don't want to spoil it) or the reason why he stopped fighting in the underground fight scene (very descriptive and sad). Penny was just a very curious person and just kept asking many personal questions although she internally knew not to. After everything they have been through in such a short period, the ending was just right.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this story from beginning to end; the ending is NOT a cliffhanger and to me it was a "happy for now" ending. I am anxious to read the second book coming out in July as it will be on the top of my list of books to read.

Well what a different kind of book. Penny thinks be evicted from her apt is so bad until she meets with Rich. The twist and turns in this book keeps you rolling. I enjoy this book and will read the second book to see what happens
Okay so we meet Penelope aka penn aka penny, she has no one, no mother, no father, was raised in an orphanage and moves to Oregon to go to college with a friend Abby but Abby is not a good choice for a friend really. She is all about herself, she makes mistake after mistake apologizing and swearing to do better but never does she only takes and takes from Penelope until there is nothing left. She now has no home, little money and no one to turn to. So she goes to drown inner sorrows and meets Richard aka Rich. He is tall and handsome and a sweet talker and he talks Penelope into a going with him to his apartment where they have a hot, intense session. But someone comes knocking on he door well not knocking more banging. Richard tells Penny they have up leave that he got into some trouble and some people are after him so they run. Penny is persistent and asks lots of questions and doesn't back down. She isn't weak and meek so she dishes it out but the trouble doesn't stop there. Truths will be unfolded, lies are being told and they are falling in love. Richard lost his mom, hates his dad and he too ran from his family but not his sister Mandy. She's in trouble and he is going to protect her the same as he is penny. He just can't seem to let her go even though his head is top yelling for him to make her run his heart isn't so sure. She has him pulled in although he says he has never been in love Penny is throwing a curveball in his direction and he is throwing one right back.
Ideally enjoyed the story it was a love story but with some thrills along the way.
This book was a whirlwind, lots of emotions running through my head as I read it. I HATED Rich for what he did to Penny and thought it was despicable, but then we found out his reasons for it and he totally grew on me and became a sweetheart. Cute story and can't wait to read the next. Great read for anyone that likes romances with some drama in there as well.

'Change of Heart' by S.E. Edwards, is not just any new adult romance. It may be dripping with hot, steamy scenes like you would expect, but it is also filled with heart palpitating escapes, dangerous secrets, complicated intrigue, and moments that will make your heart melt. Most of all, its about a woman who has learned the difficulties and necessities of self-reliance, survival, and perseverance and how one man, in a most unusual fashion, is able to breach her blockaded heart. The momentum of Penny and Richard's story will leave you breathless and panting for more, and I highly recommend this book for its entertaining appeal and thought-provoking drama.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Penny and Richard's chaotic love story. Two broken people Penny coming from an orphanage and Richard coming from a house of neglect and lies are instantly attracted to one another. What is meant to be a one nighter turns into a run for your life sort of deal. Penny having nowhere to go and hide puts her life in Rich 's hands and in trusts him with her life. That's when the surprise twist first start. The story has you wondering what is real and what is a lie every few steps. Penny had no reason to not trust Rich and with that naivete Penny is drugged by Rich and handed over to the bad guys. Rich realizes he likes her too much saves her from the guys and once again they are on the run. The story goes back and forth between fighting their feelings and staying alive. I was so hooked that when I reached the end I was disappointed there was no more to read. I cannot wait till the next book!
